Discover how to write brilliant narrative non-fiction! Whether you’ve written non-fiction before or not, this course will guide you from idea to publication, helping you to explore how best to write your story whether that's memoir, biography, travel or essays, this course will cover it all.

No matter where you're at in your writing journey, Rebecca will help you hone your skills and strengthen your voice. We'll examine a whole host of brilliant writers analysing what makes the best non-fiction stand out.

There will be regular writing exercises and group discussions to strengthen your creative muscles though no pressure at all to share your writing. By the end of the five weeks, you will have deepened your understanding, developed your skills and be writing much more, more regularly!

TUTOR

Rebecca Smith(she/her) is an author and journalist. Her first book, Rural: The Lives of the Working-Class Countryside was published in 2023 by William Collins and is longlisted for the Wainwright Prize and won the Bill Rollinson Award at the Lakes Book Award. She has written for The New York Times, The Guardian and The Sunday Times. Rebecca worked in radio for ten years before completing a Masters in Creative Writing at Glasgow University. She is from Cumbria and now lives in Central Scotland with her three children and her partner.
